I was hand sewing the binding on my quilt the other day. I was reclined in the recliner, cat on lap, quilt on top of cat, watching TV in dim light and sewing on the binding. In order to see what I was sewing, I had it close to my face. As I took a stitch and pulled the needle out, I scratched the tip of my nose with the needle! What a dummy! Have I created a new quilting injury?

No, not yet. Maybe that's why I don't have a kitty.

You need a shorter needle.

You need a lamp so you can see properly. You must be straining your eyes.

Use a light. Could be your eye next time.

No but I have come close. You sound exactly like me when I finish a binding. Cat on top.

THANKS for sharing this! Now I don't feel quite so bad! I do stuff like this all the time. My DH just smiles and shakes his head. Sometimes he just sighs.

I've done it too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh be careful! Maybe change your binding set up. I set at a counter height table on a bar stool when doing binding. I can keep the quilt spread out and move it freely.
