I have taken out a WIP, and it was supposed to be a Rail Fence. However, I had started making blocks out of six different colors -- three colors in one block and three in the other. Now I don't know how I had planned to put them together.

Do you have any answers for this quilter question?

Could it have been to make a zig zag pattern?
I have seen quite a few made with that combination of blocks :D:D:D

I don't know. I'm on vacation, and I brought the fabric and completed blocks with me. Now I don't know what I meant to do with them.

Mary Ellen Hopkins used more than three colors in her rail fence quilts.

Just play with the blocks - see if something looks good and/or appeals to you - if it does, so them together.

It's okay if something different manifests while working with the pieces. :)

Zig Zag would work...... or figure your on vacation from all thats normal, and just enjoy the time away from home!!

(I know can't believe just told someone not to quilt )

That's such a pretty patriotic quilt! I too was wondering how 6 different colors would work...very nice!

Thank you for sending the photo. I have 16 blocks made and have been playing with them this morning.

Is the quilt for a soldier or did you just make it for you?

I was able to see that grocery bag. Why couldn't someone have noticed before you go them all sewed on?

This was for a soldier. I had never done anything like this before the stars were fun!

well, you can simply place every other block horizontal and vertical. or make a rail fence by placing a light end fabric or a dark one going across the quilt if possible.
