I admire all of you who have the discipline to soldier on -If I had a project I just didn't like, I would fold it up and put it in the closet where it would probably stay forever. Great ideas here, but if I'm not feelin' it, I move on.

I like your quilt! I am glad you decided to finish it. I have to tell you that I tend to like a quilt when I start, not like it in the middle (as it forms on my design wall), and then end up liking it when it is all finished. There was only one I didn't like when I finished, and I put it up for a month. The next time I looked at it, I couldn't figure out why I hadn't liked it. Go figure!

I have one I can't stand too. I did finish it, but it is so ugly I have not been able to donate it through my quilt guild's charity because I don't want any of them to see it. I plan to drop it off at Goodwill, at least it can keep somebody warm!!!

One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Mine was a quilt in jade, white and black that represented a crossword puzzle. HATED that thing! Someone else liked it, took it happily, and though I think of that thing occasionally, I sure hope to never see it again. :D

I've made quilts that I wish I had done something differently. Never undone and done just thought next time.

I, too, think the quilting will make the difference.

When I first picked up the quilting bug 4 or 5 years ago, I made a Turning Twenty out of a pile of FQs I had won. The colors were not my thing but I finished the quilt and donated it to our church for a fundraiser. I try not to own any UFO's

On modern quilts with minimal designs, the quilting makes all the difference. Straight line or modern quilting will make you love this quilt again. If you can't stand to quilt it send it out for modern quilting, no meandering, and you will love it again. Post photo when it is done and let us know what you think.

Your plan for quilting sounds spot on. Go for it!

I like the very modern look. I think it will be very interesting when you quilt those big beautiful negative spaces. Look at lots of quilts from the shows for ideas-new inspiration will come. Tops, big or small, are never as interesting as finished pieces. Be challenged and finish it regardless of what you finally do with it.
