I have a cat who insists on sitting on my lap when I'm sewing. He doesn't mind the knee lift, but when I'm quilting a big top he does tend to get buried! It is better than him sitting behind my sewing machine chewing on the thread!

Wouldn't be bad but he has claws. ouch!!

Enjoy your furbabies - mine does the same, but I worry about her getting a paw under the needle because she is so fast! If I don't spend some time in the sewing room each day, she goes in and cries until I come in and at least sit down with her for a few minutes. Cats. Can't sew with 'em. Can't sew without 'em!

Isn't it grand, though, to have some time for sewing, and your cat/dog sharing your hobby with (or is that on?) you.
What could be better...unless you're trying to get something done.

they are "sew" sweet :D p.s. can't type too fast - kitty is laying on my rightarm.

Haven't tried to sew with a cat in my lap but my 5 lb. poodle loves to park herself on my lap when I sit at the sewing machine. This is not really easy to sew with her-she gets frustrated when I start pushing the foot pedal and she slides off!!

My Pumpkin is my sewing buddy. She actually nags me to get out into the sewing room. I have a place all set up for her right next to my sewing machine but as you can see she doesn't like to get that far away.

So sweet. My hubby is allergic to cats so REALLY miss not having one. He tolerated it for years with 2 cats we had but when we lost them we just didn't get another. So I'll woo and awe yours. Thanks for sharing.

Someone has to supervise all the stitches. Puppy just lies in her bed under the desk, but Rahja has to be on top (literally) of everything that is going on in the workroom. In my avi he is saving some of my stash that he liked when I was de-stashing. (He LOVES purple!)

This is what can happen if I let my Gryphon get too close...
