I am almost done with my projects! I need to finish a small I-spy for my nephew's girlfriend's little boy. Not family but a nice little guy (age 7) who could use a throw to cuddle with. I made couch throws for nieces and nephews which will go in a giant gift bag filled with snacks to be a "family" gift. I'm almost done baking cookies and making candy and will start delivering them on Tuesday. How about you? Are you done or close? Adding to the "finish for next year" list? What did you make? Any new pictures to show? Please share!

If by finished, you mean given up... then, yes!

Since I got started late, I haven't finished-still have to sandwich and quilt my snow globe quilt, and have a pile of Xmas fabric I thought I had to have (JoAnn's got me again with 50% off a short time ago!) and all my Xmas magazines tagged with the projects I want to make (lets see, I finished about 6 out of about 45!) I just finished the binding today on a small Santa wall-hanging. Oh well, there is always next year! I have settled on hanging my snow globe quit on my design wall to display it as I won't get it done till after Xmas!

I just finished up the third of four wallhangings for my sisters. I have to sew the binding down on the last one and then I'm finally done for this year. I've made many ornaments, wallets, and other gifts and will be happy to be done with the presents (hopefully tomorrow!) and then I can move on to other things!!
Merry Christmas!

Oh I'm going to be spending some late nights this week!!! I have finished 25 Tater Bags, 10 Hot Mitts and 10 snap purses, three tied fleece throws and a Serger Throw, but have several things left to go..... guess I better get back to it... I still have a few hours left tonight to work. Maybe I'll get some pics posted, maybe!!

Not done yet but determined to get the 5 little girls quilts finished so they have something special for their Christmas. It was all going so good and then I made a boo boo from getting over tired. I had to take today and recover but have to be ready tomorrow to get these finished.

SherriB 12-19-2010 10:04 PM

I have finished 9 out of 10 quilts. They were throw sized and I have been working on them since late summer. Just need to finish a quilt for SIL and I will be done. I have made 2 fleece tied blankets and one more to go! I have also made a couple of pillow and aprons. It just feels so good to have these projects done!!!! Now if I can just get them wrapped before Christmas.

dyer804 12-19-2010 10:16 PM

I'm finished, but my only project was embroidered Christmas cards and they had to be in the post by Saturday. Fortunately I didn't plan any others.

Despite a broken wrist (and Physical Therapy) have managed to make a full circle Christmas Tree skirt, 2 lap size throws (one still needs binding), bake 12 dozen cookies (for neighbors goodies trays), still working on Granddaughters Rag Quilt, and shipped boxes to both East and West coasts! Whew. Still have wrapping to do.

Becky Crafts 12-20-2010 02:31 AM

All done and shipped! I made five lap robes, two pillows, a doll, a tote bag filled with sewing goodies for a new sewer and a copy of my original doll pattern with dress/nighty pattern, and my husband made 4 wooden treasure chests for the younger GS's and 4 wooden jewelry boxes for some of the GD's. Plus we sent hand-made wooden cutting boards out earlier.

I learned a long long time ago, that I needed to have all my holiday shopping/quilting finished before Halloween. I am the sole owner of a small business ( dog and cat grooming shop) and my crunch time is Thanksgiving and Christmas.....after all, Santa won't bring toys and treats to a ''dirty dog''!!! I start my planing/shoping/cutting/sewing/quilting in January and continue all year knowing what my deadline is and I will not have any time after November 1st for ''me time''. This year I started/finished and will give out 4 king size quilts, too many lap throws to count, half a dozen baby quilts and a dozen fleece dog coats for cold greyhounds in Florida!! The ideas are already swirling in my head for next year!!

Enjoy the holidays....

I didn't do a whole lot this year, and probably will keep it that way, but I did finish what I'd planned :) . I did large throw quilts for my mom and my MIL and a set of oven mitts, placemats and pot holders for my brother. I'm already planning next Christmas, and will be doing stockings for my family (DH, the kids and myself), quilts for "the dads", and that's about it. I may do a table topper or something, but nothing planned for now.

pineneedles4 12-20-2010 03:24 AM

Still working like crazy! I'm spending half a day sewing and half a day packing as I'm moving on Dec. 27. I just have two more sets of pot holders to finish and the binding and hem on the towel and potholder set I started yesterday. I should finish today...no.... make that NEED to finish today as I'm exchanging gifts with my friends tomorrow! Whew! Time is flying by!

Patty Patches 12-20-2010 04:18 AM

I;m still working on it.So far I;ve done 15 bow tuck purses,2 small quilts for great nieces some sad looking potholders.Got one more purse to do

Terryl 12-20-2010 06:15 AM

Not quite finished but hustling to get there. I have to finish attaching the binding on quilt DD made and is giving to SIL,
I need to make 2 placemats for a friend and 3 sets of coasters. With any luck I'll be able to accomplish it all. Oh I almost forgot that I also need to piece quilt top for step-son, it won't be finished but at least he will get an idea of what's coming his way
Anybody want to lend me a hand?

Pam B 12-20-2010 06:51 AM

You know what? I am only giving one quilted gift this year...a bow tucks bag for my niece...and that is only if I get around to making it! My family will not get together till the 30th so I have a few extra days. I had very good intentions but it just did not happen. I am kind of like the earlier poster who said something about things needing to be done by Halloween. So, I can look at it a couple different ways...either I am way behind this year...or, I could have quite a jump on next year!

Seriously, now that my 2 college daughters are home for the holidays, I know that I will not do much sewing at all. We will just have fun...lunches, shopping, movies, etc. In fact, closing up my machine and tidying up my sewing room is on my agenda for today. I will probably not touch anything in there until after New Year's day. (Unless we get snowed in, or something.)

DJ 12-20-2010 07:01 AM

I'm done except for some coasters I'll make for DD's boyfriend, but she's bring the fabric on Wednesday, so I have to wait for it. I'm giving these home made gifts: 1 growth chart; 1 ornament; 2 tortilla cozies; 1 twister wreath wall hanging; 1 quilt; 1 pair of knit socks; 1 knit hat; 1 knit scarf; 1 luggage tag; 3 sets of blank greeting cards; jars of freezer jam; cookie plates . . . I think that's about it.

klgreene 12-20-2010 01:34 PM

If I had to finish up Christmas projects this week, they wouldn't get done. It will take me all week just to clean. Today I did the master bedroom and bath. Tomorrow the computer, sewing room and bath, Wed. and Thurs. will be liv/dn/kitchen. I'm even to tired to quilt... so just looked on the board, and now I think I'll take a nap. LOL
Hope eveyone has a very Blessed Christmas if I don't see any of you this week.

Minister 12-20-2010 02:08 PM

Wow! Well congratulations to everyone who has accomplished the finish of the great gifts. Also, congratulations to everyone who is hanging in there and doing what they can when they can. That ladder would be me also. I did make my dil a lapquilt for Christmas, she seen me making it in the fall and of course loved the colors, so I knew it had to be hers. I finished some fleece blankets and little travel pillows, and some kitchen towels I embrodiered. A bowling towel and pillowcase. I got a fleece scarf to whip up tonite yet for a little one and finish my dh marine quilt, really want to get that done for Christmas, but not seeing it happen, but who knows it could happen.

I'm feeling a little better after reading this thread - inspired by those who are finished and in good company with those who are not! I have to ship EVERYTHING, so four bow tucks variants, a snap bag and two fleece blankets went out today. I'm working on a bow tucks diaper bag now and still need to piece and quilt something for my brand new niece - and get it to LA by Christmas! LOL Luckily my parents won't be around until the 30th so I have some extra time for their gifts.

Good grief. I'm a great planner in every OTHER area of my life, I swear! :P
