Have you made the Pink Lemonade quilt pattern my Elearnor Burns?

I bought the book and watched her video this morning. The book gives cutting directions for the king size quilt with finished blocks being 18". The lap quilt has instructions for a finished block of 9". I'd like to make the 9" blocks but not sure if I should just double everything on the lap quilt. I'm a fairly new quilter. Anyone make the 9" blocks in King size?

To get an 18" square block you'll need four 9" blocks. (2 x 9 = 18 across and 2 x 9 = 18 down) Figure how many 9" blocks across and down you'll need to get the size you want. Sketch it out on graph paper if that helps. Figuring the amounts of fabric might be a little more tricky.

No, I have not made the Pink Lemonade quilt, but saw it made today and am interested in getting a pattern for it.

I have fabric pulled to make this quilt but there always seems to be another quilt that needs piecing before I have been able to get to it. Bigger blocks make a quilt go more quickly, You will need to make eight 9" blocks across and eight 9" blocks down which is a total of 64 blocks. That is a lot more than sixteen 18" blocks. That is 5.3 times more fabric than what is listed in the lap quilt. You will have to do some planning on seeing how much you need to make a quilt. EB fabric yardage chart always have a bit more fabric listed than is actually required. If you need help with the math, just post again and I know we have some wizards of math on the board.

PS. Have you thought of maybe make a 12" block instead??? I did a quick layout using 9" blocks. Remember, you are going to have MORE lattice so you will have to make the borders smaller. The quilt body comes out to be 85.5" x 85.5". Hope this helps.
