I just got a new laptop & want to make a tote for it. I know I saw *somewhere* that someone made one. I am wondering how strong it has to be~ don't want to drop the computer flat out of the bag, now do I? Anyone have any patterns or ideas? Thanks!

French seams may be a good idea here

One of the pattern companies sells a pattern, think it is Butterick? Could try a search and if get pattern customize to you specific size. good-luck

I used the serger for mine and when I made it I had a Kenmore that had a stitch that was like a straight stitch but went back and forth to make the stitch stronger. It is very strong. My daughter used it in college and I have it now with no problem.

Beachbound: use search at the top for laptop bags. I posted pics of 2 I've done. I've done about 20 now and sold almost all of them. They're quick and go together easily and are strong enough to carry a laptop without it falling out (just don't drop the whole bag with laptop in it LOL)

There's a pattern in this month's issue of Quilt World magazine: Back to School - Sassy Slide is the title.

There is a link to a free laptop bag, I made one of these and came out brilliant.
Hers the link, choose one and enjoy! http://tipnut.com/laptop-sleeves-cases/ |
My daughters have asked me to make computer bags for them. I've purchased two patterns to work with: Simplicity 3889 and McCalls M4531. This is one of my to do list things that keeps getting put off.
