Have You Made a Tumbler?

Would you show it to me? I have been looking at them for sometime and thinking about making one. I think it's cute how they look like a water glass. I saw one recently that looked like great big thimbles. If you have a picture can I see it to get some ideas?

If you Google "tumbler quilt" and then click on "images", you will find lots of examples.

I've made several tumbler quilts but don't have a picture of them. They were for donation. I have the Go die for the large tumbler and that makes it super simple to cut and sew one up in less then a day.

If you go to the Picture section of QB, at the top of the category you will see Picture Gallery. Click on that and then on the highlighted HERE for quilts by category. You can go down until you see Tumblers and look through the quilts posted.

I have never done one and it is NOT on my bucket list. Tartan is right. Go and look thru the Picture Gallery.

I just started this yesterday and hope to be done with it by Monday. I have Accuquilt Go and used the 6.5 in tumbler die, very quick and makes piecing easy peasy. I have found it very fun to put together, go for it !!!

Missouri Star Quilting Company tutorials. Jenny Doan has a couple of them. They need to be sewn together in a certain way so they iron properly and fit together properly. I've made a couple of quilts using them, one was a charity quilt and the one I'm working on now is an American flag.

I sewed mine in rows and then sewed the rows together. Just like any other block quilt. It can get confusing sewing a wide end to a narrow end but don't think about it.

I have made several using charm packs. You can make a template from the cardboard on the charm pack by measuring in one inch from each corner on the bottom and then taking a ruler and measure diagonally to the corner of the top. They have turned out very nice and are quick and easy.
