I was wondering if you have made your dog or cat a quilt?

We have a shih tzu dog and he loves laying on one of the quilts I bought at a craft show on the couch. Felix our dog will be 7 years old on April 22nd.

I am thinking of making him one.

My mom gave me 2 flannel baby blankets and he loves them! He moves them around on his big blanket.

Yes, he is spoiled.

Actually made a "foot of the bed" runner wide enough for a 75 lb. lab to lay on. He loved it and knew it was his.

I am in the process. I usually hand quilt but for the Jakester it will have to be a stitch in the ditch. I found this really cute dog bed fabric from E quilter. I think I am going to make a D9P, I need to find some other really cute fabric. I want to fussy cut the blocks that stay intact after you cut the 9P apart.

Not unless you count the ones I made from the comforter I got at the thrift store. I found a big flannel comforter in pretty good shape. Cut it into four sections then used it as a practice piece for my machine quilting. It was quilted pretty far apart and I knew it would hold up better with more quilting.

Other than that, no, I haven't made quilts for my dogs.

I haven't made a quilt for any of my cats, but would like to make a memory quilt for my dear Boots that just passed, he was almost 17 yrs. old. I've been going thru all my pics getting ready to start on this project! It has been suggested to me by several members on this board that it would be good therapy and a great way to remember him!!

Not yet but I will.

about a hundred years ago, I had a store

the store had a cat, and he had his own quilt in the window

have tried making quilts for the fur babies at home, but they all prefer to share the bigger quilts that the human residents have here

....unless it is an in-progress quilt on the quilting machine...or some cut fabrics left out on the cutting/sewing table

We haven't made it, but we do have fabrics to make the cats a quilt. Technically, it is for us, because they leave cat hair on our bed. Our theory is that if we put a quilt at the foot of the bed they may lay on it, instead of our comforter. We'll see.
