Have you made your mother a Mother's Day gift? If so, what was it?

https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/heart.gif I made my mother a tote bag. She had hinted that she would enjoy having one like our guild makes for one of our Service Projects.
Please share what project you have made your mother for Mother's Day... |
Have you made your Mother a Mother's Day gift?
I made my Mom a wall hanging from a kit that I picked up at a thrift store. Someone had started it with hand sewing and I finished it with machine quilting and some added embellishments. I also made her an appliqued mug rug that has a cone flower on it.

The last gift I made my mother was a bag for her walker.
|
My Mom has been dead since 1984.
We kids use to make her gifts at school she liked them. They were put away and she never used them. |
I just gave my sister a little wall hanging of a raw edge applique skunk. She likes to change out the wall hangings with the seasons. I guess it is now "skunk" season.
|
One year I made my Mom coordinating pillowcases and she loved them.I also made lavender sachets but not just for Mother's Day. She used them all the time.
|
My mom is a very active 98 going on 99. I knit her a shawl for times when she's sitting on her back porch.

Oh my gosh! I just made such a cute gardening apron for my daughter. It was on the EmbroideryDesign.com webpage. I did the embroidery work as well on my embroiderymachine but this free pattern could be made without the embroidery work. One could use an applique design or nothing at all. Great pattern and it really turned out. She will love it!!

Bowl Cozies. She loved them a couple of years ago and ask for more.
|
I made a shoulder bag and matching wallet and then added some cash and some pretty stuff from the Hallmark store and shipped it off.
I emailed her, "I sent you a package, but it's for Mother's Day, so you can't open it until then." I told my husband, "I'll bet she ignores the email." Sure enough... she "didn't get the email" until after she got the package. :D |
That's hilarious, Elizabeth! I might have a mom like that. :) This year is relegated to giving things she needs, as she's currently frowning on 'more stuff'. However, I'm making sure a few goodies and nice things wander in with the necessities!
|
Yeah, she's goofy, but she's mine. Whatcha gonna do? ;)
You're doing well to mix up a batch of the necessaries and the fun stuff. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/thumbup.png |

Just enjoy the day with your Mother if possible. My Mom has been gone for 34 years already and Mother's Day is always a little sad.
|
My mother has been gone for years now, but, I always enjoy thinking about the years we spoiled her for the mother's days we had her with us.
I will be sending a pretty apron and card to my mother in law. And spend time on the telephone with my sister. We always help each other through that day. |
My mom is in the don't need more stuff stage of her life, we spend time together. We are spending Thursday together, going to some greenhouses, lunch, and see the grands, my daughter and her kiddos. I will treat lunch for her Mothers day.
