Have you met Eleanor Burns in person?
YES! Lovely lady! My Mom and I met her at her store in California. Luckily Mom took one of her books with her and Eleanor was kind enough to sign it. She had a group of quilters testing patterns for the (can't think of the exact name) Quilting for all Seasons book. We were able to walk thru the room and look at all the projects in progress.

awesome, Eleanor Burns is coming to Shipshewana, Indiana, next week and will be having book signings at Yoders different times each day, I would love to go and see her
No. Just see her on TV. Love her quilting.
Yes, I was lucky enough to see her at Beaver Dam, WI, sewing weekend at Nancy's Notions. She was wonderful, entertaining and would go see her again in a heartbeat!!!
yes i have met her a few years ago in Erie, she is a very funny nice lady, she threw her fabric over her shoulder for us lol. Love her sister Pat too.
No, but I would like too. She always seems so sweet!
I've met her many times at Paducah quilt show. She is very accessible and mingles with shoppers and is always at her tent and barn sales during the show. She has a friendly smile even when you know she is bone tired.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Eleanor, however I did attend a workshop hosted by her sister Pat and she is just like Eleanor - a real hoot! I went to
her workshop one year, and last year I went to one not long after she lost her husband. A really sweet and gracious lady who definitely has her own style. You can definitely tell they are sisters as they have the same smile and laugh. |
I met her ... I babbled. She is my hero.
I met Eleanor at a quilt show in Julian, CA about 7years ago when we were visiting grand daughter and hubby. He was deployed for 6 months. We really saw southern Calif. I was showing my daugher and grand daughter the lovely blue and yellow she does and she stepped around the corner and said,"I am so glad you like my fabric". I just about fainted. A year or so later the fire destroyed part of the town of Julian. She lived up in the hills and did escape the flames.
no but i would love to, but when you live in the sticks we dont get to many celebs ,and if we do they are to far for me to go,
Yes at the lancaster Quilt show and I have the picture to prove it. I just wished I had her books with me to be autographed. She was very warm and friendly. Her family is from western pa so we talked about that. She seem very much down to earth.
I saw her signing books and chatting with people at the quilt show in Ontario, CA earlier this year. She seems like a very lovely person.
No, but I would like to.
I met her in Houston a couple of times. She is friends with a couple of my girlfriends. She is very nice.
I took a class from her in Houston a few years age. She is a wonderful teacher and a very nice lady. :)
I would love to meet her - I love her show that I get on RFD TV. She strikes me as a "real" lady as well as real hoot to boot.
Yes, at Road To California Quilt show. I have shaken her hand several years in a row.
Yes, there are 2 guilds in our area and they each have a yearly visit from her sister Pat Knoechel showing quilts and explaining the new methods used and shortcuts for making the quilts in their newly published books. Some times Eleanor comes if she anywhere near the area. They are really lovely, friendly and classy ladies. It is always a fun and exciting evening. Everyone with an opportunity to see one of their seminars should go you will have no regrets. Ruth

Yes, she is a wonderful, friendly person. She is my hero. I want to quilt just like her - using quick piecing techniques.
Yes. She is such a hoot ! Her philosophy of "having fun no matter what you are doing" is so refreshing. Thanks to our LQS, we were able to spend some quality personal time with her at a private party and book signing. It was a very special time. You can't help but love her.
Yes I met her in Paducha at the quilt festival...she is an awesome person. I read her biography and I admire her so much for all she has accomplished. I supported her tent sale very well lol.
