Have you seen the new Janome 9900?

I understand the Janome Memory Craft 9900 will be released today. If anyone gets to play with one, please share your thoughts. Can you believe the choices we have these days! :) Sew much fun!

I'm still in awe of Brother Dreamweaver. I got to sew on one and it's so nice. I love the laser guide. I think all new machines should have this feature. I know the new Janome will be fantastic. It will be fun to try it out. I'll get to see one in use as their are several Janome girls in my guild. They will be trading up as soon as a new one is available.

I was just looking at the pictures that Janome put up on their website. It's a sexy machine, but I wonder how much it's going to cost? I will admit that I'm quite taken by the changeable faceplates. I'm easily impressed though ...

y'all have gotten me intrigued with both of these machines now...enablers! :D

I guess I get confused by all the model #'s. The 12000 is the top machine, right?

Mousie 03-01-2013 08:20 AM

Candace, I can't answer that, but I googled Janome 9900 and wasn't under the impression it was their very top of the line.
I could probably never afford to even sneeze at one of those!

I saw a post from the UK that it was going to be under $5,000 (which probably means $4,999.00)<----- HAHAHA! But I haven't seen or heard anything official.

I like your tag line. If it was mine, it would say:I can't remember the big or small stuff! :D

The 12000 is the Janome top embroidery/sewing machine. I need to check out the 9900 when I get back to my dealer in MN!

I found this website in the UK that is offering it for 1999 pounds which converted equals about $3000 USD. That would be a pretty good price for this machine considering all the new features.

Just heard and saw the brocher on this machine yesterday at my LQS. It sounds nice but since I have a Janome 8900, brand new and an embrodery machine, that is fairly new will not even look at it when it comes into the LQS. Maybe 20 yrs from now, if I am still around and still sewing.

Well I thought it was, I bought mine several months ago, still trying to learn the damn thing, lol

Does this have the larger harp, comparable to the 7700 or the new 8900 ?
Doesn't appear to from photo, can't be sure, but I didn't see the harp dimensions given, it was blank on that ... ?

I keep hoping that Janome will come out with one to compete with the HQ Sweet 16, sit down model.

No, it's a small harp. It's a nice looking machine, but I haven't seen it put through it's paces yet. I went to look at it, but got irritated with the shop owner and left before I could see the machine work. LOL But it was beautiful.

I wish we HAD a Janome dealer in our area! I have New Home Memory Craft 6000 that needs a good cleaning/servicing. There is a place in a town 60 miles from here that will do it, but they do not sell the Janome line. My machine is probably 25+ years old and I sewed everything from kids clothes to prom dresses to quilts with it. I still like it the best for the two different alphabets - one script and one block letters - on it. I do have a Pfaff machine that I like, but a year after I purchased it, the shop owner sold out and left the area, so now I have no service for THAT machine, either! Such is life! Have a great day, everyone! :)

Well I guess my previous post was wishful thinking because I just got an email from a local dealer quoting me a price of $4999.00 for the MC9900 availability mid March. :-( More than I would want to spend on a machine.

I bought mine for about $2400. Top of the line is the 1500? then the 1200, then the 9900 I thought....may be wrong. I really like mine. Just got it and the dealer here in Spokane gives life time lessens to learn. I really love this machine! No regrets....
