Have you seen the pin cushions for your finger?
I was in my LQS yesterday and they small pin cushions that fit on you finger like a ring. Don't know how comfortable it would be while actually sewing but they were a cute idea.

No, I have not seen a ring pin cushions. Do you have a picture?
|
I have not seen one like that. I think I would always be bumping it and knocking the pins off.

I've been to some quilting functions where they had those in the goodie bags. You can make one yourself using a bottle cap. Here is a random link to instructions http://flourishingpalms.blogspot.ca/...-tutorial.html
You can google bottle cap ring pin cushion and you will find more. Have fun! Carole |
Sounds real cute..Until I heard about the bottle cap I was thinking I would be stabbing myself forever!!

I have one. It is made of wool. I use it for my self-threading needle when I'm burying knots after quilting or for my needle when I'm doing binding. I like it because I am always setting my needle down or sticking it into something and then forgetting where I put it. Yikes! I'm not sure how I would like a larger one when sewing. I think it would get in the way.
The next thing I'm looking for is a wool wrist one. I would use that style for pins while sewing. |

I couldn't get used to mine. I kept my finger pointed out so it would be handy to use but my finger got stiff and ir seemed to always be in the way. I did get a real nice one for my wrist from a friend and I do use that one.

I have friends who use them but I prefer one for my wrist. The guild makes them for the show goodie bags every year.

I have one of these, love it. Really great when you are doing hand sewing. We have a teacher at my local LQS that gives them out at the beginning of classes. Thanks for the Tute

Thanks for the tute Chester the Bunny. This is very similar to the one I saw at LQS except the band was made of a pony tail holder and the base was wooden instead of a bottle cap.
AFQSinc--that is a wonderful idea using it for the cheater needle when burying threads. Thanks to all. |
I made one of the ring pin cushions. It works well, although I think I got the elastic a little loose. They are quick and easy to make, and very little cost in materials.

I have one of those botle cap pin cushions and they work great. . . paid 50 cents for it at a quilt/craft show!
|
I got one at a quilt show & love it. I am going to make some for my quilting friends.
|
I don't think I would like it.
