Thanks a lot! I had looked online for tutorials but none of them were very specific so it is good to hear all your experiences.

I made a king size one for my daughter. I put a very thin wadding in so she could use it as a quilt by it self for nights that don't need a duvet. Quilted it and bound it like a regular quilt put studs on for closure. She absolutely loves it

A friend was making a quilt for her coming grandchild. Her DIL said she wanted a cover for a duvet not a quilt. She made a quilt with I think it was lightweight calico on the back and quilted then she used this as the top and used some lovely cotton fabric to make the bag and used a strip of those press studs to fasten it.she also made a matching pillow cover for show. The wadding was very light, as the duvet would be the main warmth.
