Have you used janome quilt binder?

I just bought a janome 6600. I noticed they have a quilt binding attachment. Has anyone used one of these? Does it work well? Did you find that it saved time? It's pricey so I wanted to get a lot of feed back on it. I really don't like binding the quilts so if this worked well I'd consider getting it. Thanks. MJ

Oops I found a previous discussion on this. Look up quilt binding set. Seems like most people bought it and then didn't use it. One person found it didn't work on homemade quilts only on per quilted fabrics.

I've not used this specific attachment, but have used other binding attachments in the past. I've found they all seem to bind well, but corners are impossible (well, for me) and it's easier to do it without the attachment. I would make sure there's a really good instruction video showing the entire process or your dealer knows how to deal with the corners.

They don't do double fold, which is all I use on quilts so I would never make use of one.

I bought one for my 7700 and tried my best to like the dang thing. Should've saved my money. :p

Thanks folks, You've saved me a couple hundred dollars and kept me from having to add a post in the thread about biggest purchase mistakes you've made.

I found that machine binding attachments are okay if you have rounded corners--if you want to bind all the way around non stop. But square corners---it doesn't work. Maybe if you sewed on each binding edge separately instead of mitered corners. I just prefer doing it by hand--nice to have handwork to do sometimes.
