Did you try it the normal way first?
I'm working with it right now and thread it just as I always do, it's on the machine as I do with all my thread. The only thing I did was loosen the top tension a little |
Go to this site and WATCH all the videos. You will learn an amazing amount of info on threads, tension and you will have very little problems in the future. The lessons are from Superior thread and you might think it is just a sales pitch. This is high quality thread and when you watch the one about monofillament you will be amazed.

I tape an upside down safety pin to the right side of the machine right at the top with the hole just above your machine. Then take the thread from the cup, put it through the hole of the safety pin and thread your machine as you normally would.

I use Invisible thread ONLY on the top thread for SID. I do not use it on the bobbin. On the bobbin I use a matching thread to the backing. Using this thread on the bobbin may be the problem.

As another thought ... I do not think you have said you have tried using regular thread.
Perhaps what you need to do is try some FMQ with the regular thread, to ensure that you can FMQ without problems. It could be that the monofilament is not the sole cause of the problems you are having. With three threads going here, that it's hard to keep upwith what's going on, EllieGirl. ... would be much easier if you had kept it to just one thread, and the continuing story, IMHO. |
