Having trouble with pattern directions

I've been working on Civil Unrest that I ordered from Country Threads. This pattern is also called The Blue and the Gray.

I made the 9-patches and it says they should finish at 3". The squares are 1 1/2" each for the 9-patch. My blocks finished at 3 1/2"

The setting square are 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".

The triangle in a square blocks are suppose to finish at 2". Cutting instructions are: dark square for triangle- 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". Four light squares- 1 1/2' x 1/2". I made a sample one and it finished at 3".

I'm confused. Am I reading the triangle/square block incorrectly?

Thanks.

Remember, once you sew the blocks together you will be losing 1/2 inch in the measurements, which will make the the finished size it calls for. Is that the problem?

Sounds like you are right on the money. If they are 3 1/2" before you sew them together, then you use up the 1/2" for your seams and you end up with a "finished 3 inch block".

What I'm stuck on is the directions for the triangle in a square blocks. The pattern directions say they should finish at 2".

My sample block finished at 3" (before sewing to other blocks). Won't they finish up at 2 1/2" and my other blocks will finish at 3".

Either the directions are wrong for the triangle in a square or I'm reading it wrong.

I googled "martingale blue and grey errata"
The following page came up with a link to corrections:
http://www.shopmartingale.com/blue-a...-gray-the.html
if this doesn't help, I would contact Country Threads.
