Hello
I am from Winnipeg, MB. I will be travelling through Seattle and to Vancouver Island in Sept. m not familiar with any quilt stores in those areas and I was wondering if anyone could refer me to some quilt stores that carry African, Australian, Japanese , Shibori and Kaffe Fasset fabrics. Thank you!

Shibori Dragon comes to mind, but it's a bit out of Seattle

Welcome to the board, Claudiav . . .hope you enjoy your journey. If you have a smart phone, an app I use often is called "Quilt Shops". It's available for both iPhones and iPads and I'm sure, if it's not available for android platforms, there's an equivalent available. I have my favorite spots bookmarked as my granddaughters live out of state and I drive a LOT
Here's a link to the iPad version because I'm too lazy to log into the forum on my iPhone and post the link from that, LOL https://appsto.re/us/0B4uB.i |
There are so many in Seattle and surrounding areas, you need to investigate ahead of time. I don't live there but dream of some day getting to a bunch of those shops! Someone will be able to help you though.
Your wish list for fabrics is awesome, can I come too? Welcome to the board, I am from Washington State, not near Seattle:) |
Welcome from Southern California. I bought from a shop located in Seattle but can't remember their name. I found 5 quilts stores on Google. They also help with location.
https://www.google.com/search?q=quil...utf-8&oe=utf-8 You can see if any of them have an online presence or email them with your request. Hope you have fun during your US visit. |
go to rowbyrowexperience.com they list all the washington state shops participating in the shop hop. there are several listed for Seattle and Tacoma
|
Welcome from SC Texas.

Thank you to all!

Are you driving or flying to Vancouver? I can get you a good list to use if you are driving. I can also get you one if you are just flying straight there. My cousin us here for a family reunion from Victoria and I will ask her later on today. I always go to Dressew when I am in Vancouver. They are not specifically a quilting store but you can get the best deals ever there for quilting and sewing notions in addition to whatever kind of fabric you want. The Quilting bear in Tawassin is also very good.

Welcome from a Southerner in Tennessee! You will love this board. Wish I could help you in finding quilt shops. Enjoy your trip and get back to us and show us what you purchased. Have fun.

Shibori Dragon comes to mind. It has wonderful Japanese fabrics. It's quite a ways south of Seattle but pretty easy to find with a GPS. They have an online store, too.
|
Will you have a car? If you call ahead, you can check out "http://www.overrainbow.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi." Laura is mostly an online shop, but she will open her place by appt. if you call ahead of time. She is on Camano Island and she has lots of different fabrics.
|
While in Seattle you will want to look up Shibori Dragon. They have everything you are looking for and more. I always spend more than I wanted to when I go there. Great folks, and a super fun shop
