The easiest way is to simply heat the iron and rub it over a used dryer sheet. Works every time for me.

For next time, if you don't have a special cleaner handy, try this. Sprinkle some salt on a brown paper bag and iron it. Do this a couple times, and you will find it cleans all the goop off your iron:-)

I do a lot of machine fusible applique and I am always getting it on my iron so I have used Snippers and Snipforfuns suggestions and they both work real good.

I've also heard you can use dryer sheets.

Use a new fabric softner sheet. Either iron back and forth over it with a warm iron, or just use it to scrub off the adhesive. It works for me everytime.

Ironing on a dryer sheet also will remove stickies.
