Help with Autumn leaf pattern

1 Attachment(s)
I am in the process of makeing a top that has 17 autumn leaf squares. I have attempted 3 so far with poor results. The pattern just says sew templet n to templet O( the top pointy tip of the leaf). Thats it. None of the squares I have done for that part of the block are the correct size. I obviously am not putting them together corectly. I have tried starting with the starting edges flush and 1/4 inch beyond.
Can anyone tell me how to sew them together.
Here is the block I am trying to make. Not the quilt though. Thank you.

If you let me know what size the block is I can create it in EQ for you. I can create a paper piecing pattern or templates. It's a little hard from what you've said to even figure out what template N and O are, but it does look like an uneven nine patch block so should be fairly easy.

Can you show us pictures of what you have done-that is not working? If we can see what is happening we can probably figure out what is going wrong.

On the back side of your pieces, mark your seams along all sides. This will give you the cross points to match for part O and N. Sick your pin straight thru both intersections and line up the seams. Your pieces will not line up exactly at the point. Hope this works for you.

OK Here are pictures of the templates O and P not n. I traced them on freeser paper. The block is supposed to by 3 1/2 as you can see not even close.

If you press the block, it should be 3.5"?? Looks pretty darned close to me! (I'm assuming that the close markings on your cutting mat are 1/2" marks)

PP it is 3 1/2 horizontal and just over 3 1/4 vertical. I ripped it apart and redid it and it came out the same. The other 2 came out with the same measurement. I think I am placing the pieces wrong to start sewing.

cjsews sorry I missed your reply. I will give that a try. Thank you

Happens to me too. I'd make the white pieces bigger, and square it up after the patch is sewn. I just seem to get better results although it takes longer to do.
