I have thin cotton batting with wrinkles in it. I got it out yesterday, cut out the size piece I need for a wall hanging, layed it flat overnight. What should I try to get the wrinkles out of it?

I always iron my batting, is this wrong anyone?! Usually not the whole thing, but creases or major wrinkles!

I iron it!

I toss mine in the dryer - sometimes with a damp towel to help relax the wrinkles.

Why didn't I think of that! Great advice, and easier than ironing a big piece!

Sometimes I put it in the dryer with a damp towel. if it is cotton I iron it. then, when I am making the sandwich I smooth it out. So far so good.

Thanks for all the responses. I ended up ironing it with steam. The wrinkles came out. Next time I will try the dryer with damp towel method.

Keep in mind that you may get significant shrinkage when using 100% cotton and using the dryer method so be sure to cut quite a bit oversize before tossing in the dryer!
