Help with binding

So.... I’ve finally finished the border on my quilt.
so what colour binding? i have yellow/gold dark purple or light purple |
I generally figure binding is the last place I can put color on my quilt. Is the light purple the same as the framing of the blocks in the quilt top? If so, that is my first choice. Helps tie everything together and end it at the same time. If it's a close but not exact fabric I'd take the following into consideration.
Personally, I like the solid punctuation of the golden yellow especially next to the border print, but it is a rather "taste specific" sort of thing. If the quilt is for you and you like, sure no problem. For sale or to someone you don't know well I wouldn't do it. I think the dark purple is a safe reasonable choice, it ends the quilt nicely and strongly without the punch of yellow. |
dark purple is gorgeous and also in the quilt. my choice!
Dark purple. Beautiful quilt.
I like the dark purple too. I'm a fan of dark colors for bindings. I feel it stops the eye and frames the quilt nicely.
I like the dark purple best. I try to do dark binding as it makes a nice frame and doesn’t get as dirty. Pretty top!
Another vote for dark purple, but then I like dark ouside borders that sort of frame the "inards". Oh, I didn't see Tartan's post! I agree.
I would chose the dark purple.
Another vote for dark purple for all the reasons stated above. Beautiful quilt, by the way.
Another vote for dark purple to finish the quilt. Beautiful quilt!
Dark purple, hands down, before I even looked at others choice.
Dark purple here too.
Another vote for dark purple.
i vote for the dark purple

Dark purple as the primary binding
consider using the gold as an accent doing Charisma's flanged binding method - it will give you a thin "bead" of gold against the dark purple and would be gorgeous! Here's one I did with a darker gold main binding and a burgundy accent And here is a dark green print with purple |
Another vote for dark purple, for both being a nice frame for the quilt and for showing dirt less. I think having a flange of light purple might look really nice.
I agree with Iceblossom on the Gold. However my preference is a dark purple for the binding if not the gold. Solid colors no matter what. You want to make a statement about your quilt.
Another vote for dark purple.
Dark purple. It will frame the quilt nicely.
Dark purple for me too.
it seems fairly unanimous, but, I vote dark purple as well!
Lovely quilt! Dark purple would be my choice. I love the dark, royal elegance the dark purple would lend to the quilt.
My choice would be the dark purple. Nice quilt!
Just as a future idea, I've always been told to bind with my darkest fabric. When makes sense, like the final picture frame.
My choice would be the dark purple for sure
Agree dark purple.
I like the dark purple but the yellow/gold fabric would be nice too. The dark purple seems to blend into your border too much. I think any of the colors would be nice but I think most everyone likes the dark purple. Your quilt is beautiful and please let us know what color you decide on. Good luck
I vote for the dark purple, it frames the quilt.
The dark purple just seems to say finished to me.
Dark Purple.
Dark purple. The yellow is too much and the light purple is not enough.
I like the dark purple the most.
I vote the dark purple
