Lovely top and yes sew first, trim second. I would run a chalk line along the edge so you get the strip sewn on straight.

That is a beautiful quilt - I love the colours too.
What pattern is it? Please and thanks! |

Thanks for all the help, stay stitching all around and then proceed as per instructions. I just love this board and everyone who contributes! I still have so much to learn and I really do value everyone’s help!
Pattern is from Quilt Maker magazine and is called Stargazing, you can buy just the pattern. It will finish as a queen size quilt, and is a pattern I will do again in Blue and Yellow. |
For all those that are asking, it’s from a 2012 issue, I don’t know which one. But here is a link where you can purchase the downloadable pattern.

The digital back issues of Quiltmaker magazine are on sale right now for $2....just need to figure out which issue! :)

Beautiful quilt and you used my favorite colors, Seahawks green and blue. Please post after you get borders done and when you complete in yellow and blue.

I could try for a thousand years and never get a quilt as beautiful as yours and so beautifully sewn. Amazing!

This has been very interesting. Can't wait to see the finished quilt. Beautiful.

I love your quilt. No suggestions about adding borders, but looks like you have some good advice from others.
