Help with borders.

Okay, I messed up my cornerstones on this quilt and just didn't want to stress anymore, so, I decided to just do strips for borders. Should I take the purple border off the top and bottom so it will match up better? I don't know how to explain it any better, but when you look at it, what do you think about the borders?

Okay, here is my two cents. You can finish up the quilt and then whoever gets it will always know which they want at the top of the head OR at the bottom. The quilt is beautiful and you can rearrange the top to the bottom or the bottom to the top. And it still will be wonderful.

It looks modern to me. This is just a different way to add borders. It plays with the stripes in the top.

I like it just the way it is. What a fun quilt!!

Keep the purple strips. They look good and help define the ends of quilt. Pretty and fun colors!

Is the name of this pattern Garden Gate?? I've been working on it at retreats now for a year and half and almost got the dang thing finished this past week at retreat but got stymied by the interwoven cornerstones. I found the directions pretty much worthless and was trying to go by the picture but still haven't figured it out--another time!

It looks very pretty to me. I would leave it as is. I sometimes do the top and bottom borders a little different so it doesn't matter much how it goes on my bed. If the quilt isn't for me then I try to make all the borders the same.

I like it the way you have it...very modern!

I'm not clear on what you mean by 'match-up better.' I think the quilt looks very nice as is.

I'd leave it as it...it's stunning and interesting, as well...once you've got it backed and quilted you won't care about matchy anything. Go with it and call it art! I like it.
