Can someone please help I can't get my star spin to lay flat, maybe I should of made sure all blocks was squared ??? Or maybe should of made sure all blocks was same size after I cut them in half or....... help I don't know .... Thanks Brenda

Some of my 'stars' I press the seams open, to helps them lay flat(er).

sounds like you may need to take it apart and square up your blocks. it is important to have squared blocks all the same size before trying to construct; also, with star points it is usually a good idea to press the seams open this reduces the bulk where they come together. check out the quilt in a day web site (elenor burns) she has a couple good tutorials for putting together stars and how to (spin) the center so it all lays nice and flat.

Some of those sides are cut on the bias too aren't they? That could be part of the problem, they got stretched a bit :D:D:D

A picture would help, but having made one of these, I'm willing to bet that the problem is caused by stretching the triangle sides, which are cut on the bias. You can try to wet it, poke and push it into shape then press dry.
