How about Illusion with a white background and the yellow for the inner border. Do I have the name right? It's the one It's the one with rectangles that have shadows giving a 3-D look.

Magician's 9 Patch

I used these same colors to make a Magician's 9 Patch that one of our QB members did a fabulous tutorial on (slightlyoffquilter, I think? you can google her blog, it's great!) except I did some freehand embroideries in the corner blocks. Loved how it turned out and it was so easy to make following her instructions. It's essentially a D9Px2 with big blocks and came together quickly.

I was thinking about a Disappearing 9 patch using the yellow as the centers. Then a small framing border of yellow and a wider black border. If you have enough fabric, maybe use the scraps to make a multi-color binding. I would probably add a couple grey tonals and maybe a very small print black.

Oops
I meant a DP9 in a 9 patch, not x2. Clearly there wasn't enough coffee today!
