I'd like to make a baby quilt (maybe 40" x 60") in the design of a scuba diving flag. Does anyone have an idea of how I'd make this? I'm only familiar with squares and half square triangles so I'm hoping it can be done with those shapes. Thanks!

I think this is also called an Indian Hatchet pattern.
good luck!

To make this as simple as possible, why not cut your red at 40 x 60 and applique' the white stripe on? No HST or other blocks needed. As a diver myself, that would be nice, and you could also applique' tropical fish or ferns or turtles as that is what we see when we 'go down'.
