Not sure what you are asking. I think you want to enlarge the blocks you were given but you haven't given their original size unless 6 was the size and not the number of blocks.
Assuming you have six inch blocks you would need to add another six inches to make a 12 in block. That means squares should be 3 inches. If these are finish sizes add 1/2 in for seams and cut 3-1/2 in squares. And you will need 12 for each block. For 1/2 square triangles you will need to add some. If this doesn't fit the bill please post again.

Ok, they're 10 1/2" now, and you want them to become 12-14" square?

If you're going for 12", you could just add sashing. 10" finished plus 1" sashing would give you 12. I must not be understanding this, as it doesn't seem like a big math problem. Could you perhaps explain further?

If your blocks are 10 1/2" and you need them to be 14", (finished size?) you need to add (4) 3 1/2" finished size of HST's across the top and bottom. 3 on side seams.

I would definitely sew one block out before you cut all your fabric.

I might set these on point w alternate blocks either plain or pieced, add a small border and then a border of half square triangles and then a wider border to make it about the size you want. Sorry, no math included...just lazy.

Don take a sheet of paper and fold under 1/4 inch seam then pin onto block either strip or even a triangle shape . Cut as you wish to make what you wish. Add little extra for seam or just incase. Then make a practise with fabric and sew onto one block cut to size.

You could put the block in the bottom right corner and just add new fabric on two sides making an off centre block. 101/2" block to 12" would need two pieces 2" in width .

let me just throw this out there--i don't use math, i use visuals. i would take a newspaper or a paper bag
[it's ez & most everybody has one] and cut it to the size i want. then just place the block you want to change on top of the bag/newspaper, & then you can SEE what you need to do & can measure the pieces you need...hope this is as clear as mud...

Why not use them the size they are?

Hi Don. I wanted to make a charity quilt from these print blocks but they were not square so I ended up adding a skinny border to them. Hope this helps.
