help in finding a chart

I seem to remember someone on the boards sending in a chart on how to figure hst's using a square and cutting in both directions diagonally. I think it was called Halving it. if anyone knows or can tell me where to find this I would be forever grateful.

This may be the info you need. The chart shows the size of the square after you resew the 4 HST into a pin wheel, but it also gives the calculations. This does result in HST with bias edges, so starch heavily and handle gently.

I have a chart (plastic coated) that states all kinds of yardage for various cuts - 1/2 sq triangle, etc that was in a quilt magazine from the late 1990's. I don't know where you would get one, but I would try F&P as they are very helpful.

I found several charts on Pinterest.

There are several charts out on the net.

However, I don't always want to go to my computer. I might end up wasting [?] time there instead of sewing/quilting. I go to my little green book: The Quilter's Pocket Reference by Peggy Scholley. It is a classic and I can find it in less than 30 seconds! I heartily endorse this book.

Fast way to do 8 at a time half square triangles (HST) with straight of grain edges! This was posted by Lucy in the Sky on 7-21-11
