Does anyone know of a farm house pattern that is not as difficult as the one featured on Quilter's Cache? I am willing to paper-piece, applique, anything - just need something simple.

Thanks! :-)

Find a color book and create the pattern that works for you (smile). I use color book pics a lot.

I've tried that, can't seem to find one anywhere!!!! Thanks for trying to help though!

I looked up the pattern you mentioned ... I'm pretty sure there's a basic house pattern, also on QC. Not sure what it's listed as.

Did you try Google?

seymoore 10-09-2011 06:53 PM

Thanks. Yes I have tried google, I've googled til I'm googled-out! You wouldn't think a simple farm house would so difficult to find.

What defines a farmhouse to you?

Thank you Karen! This looks more like a barn to me, but I am also looking for a barn - so thanks.

Try Google Images . On the left side you can refine selections for line drawings and clip art. If you find something you like your printer can be your enlarger. Eliminate details.

Expand your search with "Ranch house" or "cottage" or "rural housing"

Hello, just like others have said I too find a coloring book helpful. They are very inexpensive and you can find them any where. Also look on the site..I think it is free quilt patterns. Good luck. When you are finished send us a picture of your farm quilt. I know I would love to see it and I am sure others would also.

Try one of the Thimbleberries books - there are a few house patterns in them.

It really isn't that hard...Give it a try...Just make sure all the pieces measure to that 1 inch block...If you have any problems I'd be happy to help out...I know allot of the ladies couldn't get their printers to print to the inch...I'll be able to aid you on that if you have the same problems...just PM me.

i have some fabric with pictures of house & barns,
if you are interested in something like that, you could use them as patterns with your own twist...[they're OLD]

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Here's my finished row. It's for one of the row robins here on the QB.
