A quilter on another forum I belong to is looking for instructions to make a quilt like the one in the link below. I thought I would post the photo here and see if any of you might could help. She thinks the name may be Chimneys and Swallows. She found one with a black background, and one similiar to this one, but not the exact one. Can you help?
http://forums.about.com/n/docs/docDo...c-0f4e6c7fa941 ETA: Evidently this link will not work and I don't know another way to put the photo in. Sorry, I guess this is a lost cause. |
Can't get through on that link ??
|
I posted this link the other day, but scroll down the page
http://www.quiltpox.davisfamilycreat...f_patterns.htm Is it chimney swallows? Your link didn't help me either. |
This link has a block pattern called "Chimney swallows". I think it makes your quilt when the blocks are put together. It is a very beautiful quilt. Hope it helps.

When I click on the link it brings up the picture. I have no idea why it won't work for you all.
Sorry |
I'll try again and if it doesn't work, I give up.

Is this the right one? |
Still can't get in there - it asks for a password. Can't access the download at the moment, either. will try later.

That's a beautiful quilt mgshaw, if that's the one. Sure looks like the same block set on point.
|
Yes that's it.
|
what a beautiful quilt it works into
|
I agree, Christines link looks to be the same block.
|
that's a pretty nifty quilt design, allright. :P
if you have the Block Base software, you can find it by searching on "swallow". and thanks for the link to the Davis Family Creations site. what a find! :P :P |
Wow, that is one of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen! I love the use of color, tone, tint and value! Set against the white background and with that wonderful quilting - it is amazing!
|
Wish I could do that!!!

The lady who wanted help find the instructions finally found the maker of the quilt. The following is (hopefully) a link to the website.

There are instructions -- brief ones, with a diagram -- for the Carrie Hall version of Chimney Swallows here:
http://fieldguidetoquilts.com/4Curve...diagrams2.html You have to scroll way down to the bottom of the page to get to it. When you use the site, go to the Quilters' Index, and if there's a link to a tutorial or to a diagram, there'll be a box around it. There'll also be a "Make It!" icon along with the block description. Here's the link to the Chimney Swallows block. It's the last block on the page. http://fieldguidetoquilts.com/4Curve...BlockInfo.html You can look up blocks using the Google the Site page or look them up on the Thumbnail Index or Quilters' Index. |
