Help with fleece, please

Planning to use fleece for backing on baby quilt, which has quilt as you go blocks. Top is put together. Since blocks are already batted, bordered, and quilted, will not add more batting. Just want to stitch in the ditch around each block with fleece backing. Problem is, how do you stitch with fleece? Walking foot? Cotton or poly thread? Stitch length? Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first time sewing fleece, and this is a gift, so I'd like it to be nice. Thanks in advance for any tips you can share.

I would use my walking foot and use a longer stitch length due to the bulk.

I agree with Tartan, use a walking foot and be sure that the fleece doesn't shift on you.

I agree with Tartan, also. I usually reduce the pressure on the feed dogs.

Hopefully, you have some left overs so that you can make a practice block using the same fabrics as in the quilt. This will tell you a lot, plus give you a feel for it before starting on your gift quilt.
