Help! How to word a quilt label?
I've been assigned the task of making the label for our guild's Retiring President's quilt and I am totally at a loss of what to say on it. The 25 blocks were made by members of the guild so I've taken a picture and photoshopped their names over the blocks (the label will be on the large size). But now what to say? I am totally stumped. Suggestions please?

Making a personal label is always a challenge. Having never done one of these type labels, I would think almost any type thank you note would be something to consider. You do want to put the name of the club, the year and the office. Then you have to think about what type of note. Do you want a formal thank you for being president? Do you want something cutesy and rhyming? What has been done in prior years? You don't want to step on a prior president's toes.
When you look back and remember all the fun of leading our xxx xxx club in 2014, we hope this quilt will warm you and wrap you in our good wishes. (Signatures of all people who made blocks or are in the club would be in this area) or Not all presidents are the same. You have been an inspiration and a good leader for xxx xxx club in 2014. Each time you wrap yourself in this quilt, you will feel our gratitude and friendship. |
Perfect, I love it!! Thanks Barb, you saved my day.

What a GREAT suggestion Barb of Louisiana. I am also one that would have had difficult finding the right words. Usually that is when I turn to Google. It is amazing how much inspiration I can find there too.
