There are many, many quilt designs that take the name kaleidoscope. Ricky Timms sells a DVD and pattern for his 'Kool Kaleidoscopes'. Stack-n-whack designs are frequently referred to as kaleidoscopes, as are OBW's. And there are tons of traditional block designs with that name. Morningcoffeegal gave you several examples. Is there a particular quilt that you want to duplicate? If we see a picture that would help to narrow down your search.

Here is a tutorial on this board for a specific type of kalidescope quilt called a One Block Wonder:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-92503-1.htm
Although OBW quilts are set with just the hexagonal kalidescope blocks, the same blocks can be set with contrasting fabrics to create a Stack & Whack quilt.
Here's a link to see what OBW's look like:

Sometimes we get double, even triple posts. It might be because you hit 'send', see nothing happening, and then hit 'send' again. Then again, it could be gremlins. Don't worry about it - everyone understands that it happens, just not why.

gypsylady5 08-28-2011 10:09 AM

I'll definitely have to try that. Wonder how many fabrics I have in my stash???
