Help! I need a black/red/white twin quilt pattern.

I need a twin size pattern for my soon-to-be 16 year old granddaughter and I've been going through all my books and magazines til I'm now totally confused and unsure what to do. I've been quilting about 2 years now and feel comfortable with easy to moderate patterns. This quilting board is fantastic and I will be so grateful for any help I can get with ideas. I think I have more trouble choosing patterns than actually making the quilt!;) Thank you in advance!!!

Shirely, I made a red, white and black quilt: http://www.quiltingboard.com/introdu...e-t162609.html. The info on the pattern is posted on page 9 of this thread. You could make this any size you wish. Hope this helps.

I made the Big Block Quilt by Black Cat Creations, however I inverted the colors. I did red and white instead of black and white and used black sashing. :) Good luck!!!

You could do a three-color rail fence or a Disappearing 9-patch. I bet that would be stunning and sooooo easy.

Times Three would be fun in those colors.

The tube quilts from Missouri Star Quilt Co. would make up great in red/black/white. You could play with a number of layout options depending on where you put which color for the strips. If you do a search on this board for tube quilts you'll see lots options for playing with the pattern.

All your quilts are beautiful and I really like the first and second pictures as good ones for red, white, and black. I'll see if I can find the pattern you referred to. Thanks so much!

That's beautiful! Is there a name for the pattern? Thanks for sending the picture.

Teacup: I watched the youtube tutorial on tube quilts and that's awesome! Beautiful arrangements on something that looks so easy. That's what I like - easy to do but look hard! Thanks!!

I made a red/white/black quilt for my DS and DDIL using the "Yellow Brick Road" pattern. It worked up fast and turned out very nice.

This is actually a black/red/white 8-color rail fence ... laid out differently.

Thank you all so much. These are some great ideas! Enjoyed seeing the pictures of quilts you all have made. They're all beautiful and now I have to make a decision. I thought the tube quilt technique was unique and very pretty. But they're all impressive.

I meant to add that I've also saved most of these quilt patterns and references to my quilting folder for future use. I'm now making my grandson a twin quilt, will start the black, red, and white quilt soon for my granddaughter, and then have one more granddaughter to make for. My goal is to have them done for Christmas this year so getting an early start!

Hi,
I have been saving black on white and white on black fabric for some time now and am about to start cutting and sewing. I love the red, black and white quilt you have but cannot find the info on the pattern. (My computer skills are about as good as my quilting skills). How do I get to page 9 of the thread to find the pattern?

zzaped 10-19-2013 07:58 PM

beautiful. Could you please tell me if this is a particular pattern or a log cabin pattern you've made your own?

I made a D9P with the same color in all the centers of the 9 Patch. This could be easily done with 3 colors. I did it with teal and black and whites http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...456108-d9p.jpg
