I am limited in imagination and $
Anyone have a suggestion for a small Christmas pressie?
I could do a doll quilt for the younger, but what for the older one?
She always wants to do the "big girl" things and is quite a big girl...

If you can think of fast and easy, I'm open to all suggestions...
Thanks,
MJ

What about a tote? Does she help mom cook? You could make an apron. Maybe a lap quilt with just squares instead of any sort of pattern?

get her started on braiding a rug....or maybe she can make a hot pad....give her the kit to make her own....just a thought

A small makeup bag.

How about a fleece blanket? Trim to even up the edges, "hem" on the sewing machine or serger -- and you're done. And since the girls are small, about 1 1/2 yds. should be plenty big. WalMart has some really "girly" stuff (Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Disney princesses, etc.) for $7.+ a yard.

For the younger one, make a tote and fill with stuff from the dollar store like books, coloring books, crayons, etc. In the older one's tote, you can find other "grown up" girlie stuff at the dollar store, too -- chap stick, bubble bath, etc.

Have fun!!

I also vote for pillowcases. My DGD's are 5 and 8 and they made their own, with grammies help, also DGS (7 yrs) .

They picked out there own fabric from my stash.

I don't know how close they live to you but maybe that is your solution. Just get them what they need to make their own pillow case. Then setup a date for "special time" to make them together.

These are great ideas! Thanks!

I'm going to check with Mommy about coming to see me for an afternoon to make pillowcases...they live about 50 miles away, but this is a good possibility.

I like the tote bag filled with goodies, too. I could go to Dollar Tree and fill with some rainy day goodies.
