I would ask her for paint chips or a swatch or a picture with what she has in mind.

Person A and Person B can have very different things in mind when describing/naming colors.

I pulled three fabrics with how I interpret/understand those colors - which may not be at all what she has in mind.

THANK you so much. I did go on their website and they do have a fat quarter set that could work. I sent her a photo. Warm wishes is a hood idea.

All great ideas, but, when all else fails, take her shopping! My dil wanted a queen sized quilt when they got married, but knowing the work involved and my innate insecurities, I knew I needed buy-in or I would second guess myself til the cows came home. I gave her a pile of quilt magazines and she fell in love with one of them, then we went shopping. They have been married 20 years now and that dang quilt is still on their bed!! Need to make another!! Good luck to you!

Gee recycler, what a compliment! To have your quilt on her bed for 20 years. That is the best thank-you a quilter could get.

Great ideas from the QB members. I agree with her getting paint chips samples that shows the colors she wants and then get her to go through some of your quilt pattern books and show you what she likes. Then you can make a decision. There are so many possibilities. Good luck!

You could always make a Sampler and use your colors for the sashing, border, backing and binding with touches of the colors in the design of the Sampler. I am just starting one now and as an example of what I am doing -- I am making a photograph to put in the center of a block and there are some red poinsettias in it and so I am using a little solid red to make the poinsettias pop in the picture. You can do the same with the pink, yellow and green. That's what makes it so much fun! Edie

OMG, I loved it when I saw it too. I might have to get the kit.
