I need some help.. I have about 30 log cabin blocks that measure 8 inches each.. Does anyone have any ideas on other simple blocks that could be used with the log cabin ones for a large quilt? Just playing with thoughts instead of an all log cabin quilt, but dont have the vision for adding other things.. Any help out there for other blocks that might be good to include?

Maybe use those blocks for the center of the quilt. Then use a border and then other blocks around the outside. Just a thought.

just depends on how the log cabins look. take a pic of a couple of them and post and we could help better. I have a carol doak book that has some wonderful ideas on different layouts.

You beat me to it! That's just what I was going to suggest. The border would stop the log cabin design and almost any other type of block could be used to finish out.

there are 4 of the blocks in this photo.. All are scrappy, with more blues, greens, and purples in them. I just dont have a clue what I would do with them, as I want to incorporate another type of block so I wouldnt have to make more.. Any ideas?

Make a pattern out of the log cabins and do a round robin for the borders this is going to be beautiful!
