Once you have that cut, then sew the smaller squares corner to corner just like you do the flying geese. If I may make a suggesion: I get a bit anal about how the seams align, so I make sure to sew them in the same order every time. Since the seams overlap, they will overlap in the same orientation on every square. |
I love quilterscache but I always "walk" myself through the entire block before I start sewing. Sometimes, like you found out, it doesn't tell you every piece to cut in the pre-instructions. Still a wonderful place to get fabulous blocks and I really like that they almost always show what the block looks like as a finished quilt.
