HELP-Janome Artistic 18

Okay I want to say that I am a novice longarmer, but I love my Janome Artistic 18. I just had gotten my free motion down to a science... I was in the middle of a quilt doing stippling and when I stopped to move to the next section...my stitch regulator fails to work! It works in speed mode, but cruise and ruler do not work at all. I found a website that sold aftermarket parts and replaced the wiring (not the encoders). I have only had the machine 11 months! Anyone had this issue? I'm great with my tension and threads. I tried moving in a single direction to see if I had the vertical or horizontal problem, but it doesn't work in either direction. I hate to have to dismantle and ship---is there anyone that does house calls in Southern California?

You have surprised me ... I did not know that the Artistic had a stitch regulator available.
Unless by chance you are meaning the speed regulator?

If it is under a year, is there not warranty coverage to sort things out?

FYI ... the Artistic 18 is not made by Janome.
Janome contracted to market the Artistic line thru their dealers.
It is basically a Tin Lizzie re-branded and re-painted as Artistic.

So your answer may be in making inquiries about the Tin Lizzie.
