Help with king size HST quilt
I am hoping someone here can help me. My daughter has asked me to make her this HST pattern quilt. My problem is, I can't find a pattern anywhere and I do not know how to figure out a size for it for a king size bed. This link is the quilt that someone made and it says on her blog that there isn't a pattern. How can I figure out how to make it if I only know that she used 13" HST's and it was 14" squares? Thanks in advance for any guidance you may have! Here is the link:

From reading the first line I believe she is saying she used 14" squares maybe cut in half on the diagonal to make the HST? I would figure it out on graph paper. It looks like she used 48 squares- 24 white and 24 black.

This is beautiful quilt.

Cut squares, draw line diagonally on back, stitch 1/4" on each side of line, cut on line = (2) 1/2 square triangles. Trim to 13 1/2" . I would use graph paper to figure out how many you need for king size quilt. ( often 100" square) {49 -- 7 across by 7 down} 13" finished (13 1/2" unfinished) would give you 91", which you could then add 5" border to to finish & bring to the 100"

If you want to use the same squares she used, you can add another column on each side (64 HST squares) and end up with a 104" square quilt with no borders. I do like the solid black border though and would probably add a 4" or so border anyway.

Thank you all for your quick responses:) I can't wait to try this pattern!

So, would I cut 32 - 14" squares and then cut them on the diagonal to make 64 HST's? I do plan on adding a border. Its also hard to tell how many fabrics she used but I have bought 6 different shades for the pattern. I hope that will be enough! Thank you for your help!

The quilt on the blog is a Queen size quilt. I added these two rows on the sides to get a square 112" x 112". The border size I used was 4" so if you want the quilt bigger, you can always add to the width of the border. I used 13" finished blocks. Hope this helps.

When I had a king sized bed I made my quilts any where from 112" square to 120" but that's because I like a quilt with a drop sort of like a bedspread.
