Help on a Longarm
I am looking at a Pfaff Grand Quilter 1200 Hobby with an Inspira Frame for $3000. Is that a good price? It is used and includes a stitch regulator. Will it do FMQ?

I recently sold mine for $1100 cash. I purchased mine in 2007 for about 3,000. I'm assuming the one you are looking at is the 9" throat? Mine was.
I added leaders, and it included the stitch regulator, laser light, pentagrams and the plastic templates with the stylus. I probably quilted 25 quilts on it so it was lightly used. Hope that helps. |
And, yes, it will do free motion quilting. If you get it, you will love it. I had sellers remorse as soon as it was taken out of my studio. :(

I think $3000 seems high. I bought a very gently used 13" Bailey Quilt Machine with a Litttle Gracie frame and stitch regulator for $2200. Just to give you a comparison. Check out the Bailey webpage.

Yes it does and thank you for responding

I will! Is the Bailey an easy machine to use. I have never used a longarm before but the quilting process on my DM is just soooo laborious. I love piecing the tops but the quilting part, even though I do free motion, is YUCKY. lol

3 years ago I sold my 9" throat Viking machine & Hinterberg 10' frame for $2,000. Extras were cruise control (stitch regulator) & zipper leaders.

Thanks for the info. I believe since I have no experience with one that I will do some more research before I invest in it, even a used one is expensive for me.

Sounds high to me!

If I were you, I would try to get one with a longer throat. If not too expensive, I would get a 17 inch or more size.
