My question for those of you whose guilds do challenges are these: How do you determine the winners? Is it voting by the membership? One judge? Committee? People from outside of the guild judging?
How is the judging received by the participants? Do they care? Are feelings hurt? Do they think it is fair? Or is it all in fun? Are there prizes? |
When we did a challenge, we assigned numbers to the quilts and the membership voted on the winners. Only the Challenge chairlady knew the identities represented by the numbers. It was fun. No one's feelings were hurt. I think we had small monetary prizes for first, second and third places, with $20-25 being first place.

Any other fun ideas?
