I need help,I am making a quilt for my nieces wedding. I have the pattern but I need to explain my idea to the quilt shop people so they can help me pick out fabrics. The pattern is Triple Expresso, (shake) the one on the left. The pattern calls for 3 fabrics but I want to make it out of multiple jewel tone batiks. Does anyone of a photo of a quilt they made that looks kind of like stain glass but not with the black lines? I want to make the back round a lighter color and the stars and flying geese in the darker jewel tones. I'm thinking purples and reds but seeing any colored quilt would help. http://www.quilterswarehouse.com/p-5...-quilting.aspx

I have a scrappy Jewel Box on a black background and a couple different bright on black quilts. I like that combination but I have also seen it on a light background as you are describing.

Here is Jewel Box on a light background: http://www.quilterscache.com/J/JewelBoxBlock_Page2.html

There are also links to "real" quilts on the same page. Dorothy's & Gwen's are more like what you described.
