Not quilting, but I'm sure someone has had this happen before.... Am trying to fix a belt loop on a pair of jeans, and my machine needle is now stuck in the material I was trying to sew! I've cut both the bobbin and upper thread, but still the needle won't budge! I'm afraid of trying to force the wheel too much.
Any ideas? Thank you!! Diana :) |
I never had a needle stuck so tightly as yours. Have you loosened the needle shank, raised the presser foot as high as possible and slid the needle out of the shank?
I assume you don't want to cut the jeans... :) |
I had that happen not too long ago. I unscrewed the needle, pushed it down into the fabric with my fingers to get it out of the needle shaft, then pulled it out of the fabric on an angle.

Thanks so much, Deema - your idea worked!!
Thanks again!! Diana :) :) |
Now, wasn't that fun? I think many of us have done the same thing.

Big fun, Rann! lol!!! I went to try it again, and the needle got stuck again! I had 3 pairs of jeans all with one belt loop needing reattachment, so did them by hand!
This board is sooo awesome, so quick to give help! I appreciate you all! :) :) |
