ok - i am fairly new to the quilting board - and I am often perplexed on some of the abbr you guys use. Like DH - I assume this is referring to a husband, but what is the D? Is there a cheat sheet for some of the abbr?

everyone seems to be "dear husband, dear daughterinlaw" etc. It alot nicer than some names I have heard

Hi Nancy, Welcome to the board, from Central California, go to the top of the page and there is a search area, click on it and type in abbreviations, will come up with all sorts of posts that have the definitions, all are nice :)

let me be the first to admit that it gets quite annoying at times, it's easy enough to just say my husband or my daughter, it would make it faster for the reader, it's not like you get charged or cut off if you use too many characters!
just my opinion and like something else ... we all have one. |

I don't always get the abbreviations used. Sometimes I ask and sometimes I just let it go, figuring I'll catch on sooner or later. The one that I am so glad that I asked about was D9P. That one opened up my quilting world. I have had so much fun with the disappearing nine patch. It was one of the first of a gazillion things I have learned from everyone on this board.
