I would probably do my favorite, FMQ. In a grey thread.

Take the top to your LQS and hold the end of the threads on each color. Maybe a light to medium gray that will blend with the grey but won't boldly jump out on the orange.

like sew 1/4 from the seams with the same color as the fabric?

i don't know the size of the blocks... if they are large, then 1/4 would be OK, but if they are smaller, 1/4 would be too much

I agree! Use Invisafil by Wonderfil. I'd use a gray. It will pretty much take on the color of the fabric. I use in both top and bobbin.
