Hello all
It's been a while since I have been here. Many life changes but most for the good. I found these vegetales blocks and would really love to make a quilt for a baby just brought into the world but don't know what to do. I can't find vegetale material so your wisdom is what I seek. My thoughts were to use this in the middle of the quilt but dont know what to do around it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your advice!!!!!

You don't say how many blocks you have. I would suggest picking some of the colours from the blocks - the additional fabric doesn't have to be veggie tales - and set the blocks with sashing. Or, if you need more "stretch" what about a warm wishes quilt with these as the focus blocks?

I only have 2 vege blocks. I wanted to use them as a focal? block. I thought that these blocks would be in the center but I don't know what to do after that. Should I use solid material or pattern material. Should I make blocks or just strips of material. This will be my 3rd quilt but its my first one without a pattern so any and all suggestions are welcomed! Thanks for the questions I guess its really hard to read my mind over the internet!!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!

What if you make 4 coordinating blocks - stars, or some design you like that compliments the veggie blocks. Then you can set them 2x3 with sashing and borders. How big are the blocks, and how big do you want the quilt to be? I like tone on tone, so that's what I'd pick for coordinating fabrics, but that's entirely up to you and what you like.

What is the size of the panel showing? It looks almost big enough for a baby quilt. I would pick the bright colours in the panel, blue, green and orangey red and cut squares. 8 to 10 inch blocks added all around the panel should make it big enough and you could quilt in the characters faces in their coloured squares.
Or you could set the panel to one side and add larger blocks down the other side and appliqué the child's name in the blocks of colour.

What great questions. The size of the square is 16 inches. I would like the quilt to be around 48 inches give or take. Thanks for all your help!

I tried to explain my thought on your question - gave up and drew a picture....just one thought of how you could get to 48" on a quilt You could do anything you wanted in the other 2 blocks - then multiple borders.... Good luck - it's very cute fabric.
