Its kinda a triangle ( for you jewelry lovers more of a trillion shape)
You put in the windows and the sides fold over. Ive seen it done in a circle, you put in fab and fold over the rounded edges and it forms a square...but i want need the triangle. Thanks...everyone here seems to know where to find anything |
This site has cathedral windows in all sorts of shapes. Hope the one you want is there.

I'm vaguely remembering something about 2 circles, sewn right sides together , leave an opening, turn inside out, and then turn over the edges and sew them down. The turn-down sides on the front would be fromthe back fabric. I think the batting was included as well, so it was like birthing the block. The batting was a triangle, not the whole circle, so you didn't have any excess bulk. It was a QAYG version. You then zigzag the triangles together (sort of like EPP). eta: LOL! I don't know if that made ANY sense at all. |
I think josephs coat is it!!! Thankyou everyone

At least I think it did. Here's the blog I was talking about: I have such a thing for color wheel gradiations - I just can't get enough of them. I LOVE her version - she's hand quilting it now. Karen used Inklingo for her templates. Not a bad idea. http://karensquilting.com/blog/categ...coat-inklingo/ The triangles are not "inserts" though, they're the background fabric. You make the blocks, and after you connect a few, you add more applique petals to connect the pattern so it appears seamless. |
This is beautiful! Especially done in batiks. Not sure if this is what you are looking for.

http://www.shelleysstudio.com/Star%20Puzzle.htm Looks like you make the block the same way as that (ubiquitous) 10 minute block, but with a larger square in the middle. Sandwich, quilt the grid lines to lock down the inner square, and then turn the edges back. That quilting is very effective - the piece has whole North African vibe to it Thanks for posting it. |
