Thanks do you know about any of the patterns that the neckties are used to make a quilt? Do you know if the book is still available?

I can tell you it was before 2008. Not much help but what I could offer. since 1984....wow. |
I actually do have the magazine it is Early Fall 1989.

If you google the book title, you will see that it is available at Amazon, Overstock.com and others. Might be on eBay. I have had the book for 11 years and haven't made a quilt from it yet. My dad died then and I have all of his ties and it is something I'm going to do "when I retire" along with hundreds of other things :). Now, all I need to do is retire!

Thanks I will check it out. If anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate any info you can share. I know you can do a dresden or fan but not sure what other quilts.. Oh I know you can do the bowtie too but these aren't what I am looking for. Would like some thing a little more contemporary perhaps. Thanks for the info though.

I have "Quilts from Neckties by Sharon Newman, Pub. 1995, Paperback (magazine size) book. General Directions for cleaning the ties to completion of one or all 11 patterns. Templates (scan and print) with clearly written instructions and clear diagrams :D
I found two on Amazon and one on Barnes/Noble the cheapest was $79.00; one on e-bay was $185.19 ... for pete's sake ...WOW!! Oh My Word! I bought mine at a yard sale for 50-cents :roll: The original sticker is on my book $8.95. Now I'm almost sorry I mentioned the book, if you ever see it grab it!!! Maybe your local library has this book, it would definitely be worth checking into.
